Elisa Galván-Mondié is an award-winning Sustainable Finance professional inspired by system transitions & local impact. She has focused over the past decade on helping foster heart-connected, regen/climate-positive cities, soils, forests & oceans through deal structuring, technical advisory & tech for good partnerships.
She is the director of FLOWi, an Impact Finance advisory firm which helps high impact companies, investors & municipalities with financial product development, carbon offset & green bond turnkey services, fractional Impact CFO work, science-based impact thesis design, asset allocation, fund selection, investor outreach and disclosure. In 2019, with UNEP Finance greenlight in Geneva, she launched online Social impact SDG related challenges and FLOWi club gathering over 7000 stewards & urban impact investors across cities and industry chapters.
Prior to forming FLOWi, as ESG & Impact Investment Advisor at Sustainalytics, Elisa helped advance the Green Bond market by executing green, sustainability & social bond frameworks as well as second party opinions by managing relationships, leading content interviews, analysis, writing and renewing collaborations with underwriters and issuers. She was also responsible for advising a portfolio of 30+ asset owners & asset managers in Europe, specializing in engagement & materiality, controversies research, ESG sovereign ratings and Thematic & impact investment strategies across asset classes. She was voted by clients amongst the world’s TOP 25 Best Client relations for Sustainable Responsible Investment Research in the global independent Survey (IRRI) in 2017-2018.
Before choosing a career in Sustainable Finance advisory, as living labs lead & matchmaker for Paris Municipality Urban lab, Elisa led the sustainable last-mile logistics and silver vulnerable population pilot testing programmes through multi-stakeholder engagement and Investment Committee analysis & recommendations with the city, 80+ startups and large organizations including Ports de Paris, Monoprix & Saint Gobain. She also helped unlock €1.2mln in grants for 24 companies and managed the sourcing of solutions for the Climate innovations Paris open-air showcase for the COP21 summit & Réinventer Paris architecture challenge.
She started her career 14 years ago in London with a Stewardship focused think tank and in the project finance space with banks Intesa Sanpaolo (BancaIMI) & Natixis. There, she appraised & executed 25+ deals valued at € 3.5 billion in the Energy, Green transport, utilities & social infrastructure space.
Elisa holds a Masters in Finance & Strategy and a BA in Social, Economic & Political Science from Sciences Po Paris, is a trained B Leader and is an alumni of the Bloomberg Philanthropies C40 Women4Climate initiative. She also bridges her passion for sustainable viticulture & wine through Wine & Spirit Education Trust WSET certification courses. She recently moved to Brussels near the woods with her family where she is a respondent to the new EU Green Bond Standard & EU taxonomy consultations.
